The Town of Greeneville has announced the return of their annual Citizens Academy and is currently accepting applications. This free 6-week program gives participants the opportunity to learn in-depth details of how our local government operates. The first session will be Tuesday, September 30th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Graduation for the academy will take place on Tuesday, November 4th after the City Council meeting that day. Locations of the sessions will vary throughout Greeneville.
Subject areas include Administration & Marketing, Building, Planning, & Development, Finance / Recorder, Fire Department, Human Resources, Library, Mayor & City Council, Municipal Airport, Police Department, Parks & Recreation, Public Works, Roby Center, and Wellness.
The sessions will be on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The dates are September 30, October 7, 14, 21, 28, and November 4.
Many graduates of the program become more active positive change agents in the community, shaping the future of our Town and County.
The deadline to apply is Friday, September 26th by 5 p.m. Space is limited. The application can be found at www.greenevilletn.gov by selecting “I want to…” and “Apply for Citizens Academy.”
