Greene County Commissioner, educator and coach Joshua Arrowood has announced his candidacy for Greene County Mayor in the May 2026 Republican primary.

Arrowood’s announcement, was released early this morning, and can be seen below.
Arrowood, who has served as a Greene County Commissioner since 2016, says in his statement he has championed property rights, opposed state outreach and supported low taxes.. He says he is running to protect our values-low taxes, individual liberty and local control. His campaign Arrowood says, will focus on grassroots engagement, with plans to connect with voters through door-to-door canvassing, town halls and social media. In the coming days, he aims to reveal his “Contact with Greene County” while appealing to the county’s conservative base.
TO CHALLENGE CURRENT MAYOR
Arrowood is the first to announce he will challenge incumbent Mayor Kevin Morrison. Morrison confirmed to Radio Greeneville News Monday he does plan to seek another term in office.
