The Tusculum Board of Mayor and Commissioners approved three traffic humps for Harlan Street at the August meeting of the board Monday night at Tusculum City Hall.
Harlan Street is used not only by those who live there, but by many using the street as a crossover from East Andrew Johnson to the Erwin Highway 107 and vice versa.
Police Chief Danny Greene says plans are to place the traffic humps:
near Dobson Street just past Tusculum Baptist
in the middle of the hills in the 400 block near the round house
and near the Aldi entrance/exit.
Estimated cost of the humps is around $2200 each plus another $400 for signage. Funding for the estimated $7800 total cost is already in the budget with street fund monies from the gas tax.
