Highlands Air Rescue flew one of the people involved in a four wheeler accident Saturday to the Johnson City Medical Center.
Volunteers with the Greeneville Emergency & Rescue Squad and the United Volunteer Fire Department were called to the 11000 block of the Horton Highway near Robert Kilday Road following the accident around 5 pm.
The operator of the ATV, Calvin Fortin told the Sheriff’s Department his girlfriends Courtney Summers was riding on the back of the vehicle which rolled backwards on them going up a hill. Fortin reported the ATV only caught his ankle, but it came to rest on the female. She was complaining of chest and back pains but was coherent and alert.
Greene County EMS responded and provided treatment while the medical helicopter was en route. The Rescue Squad used their side-by-side equipment to take manpower to the scene and assisted United Volunteer Fire Department and EMS in assisting the riders.
