The Greene County and Greeneville City Boards of Education meet this week, as well as the final ever meeting of the Joint Board of Education.
The meetings Thursday will all be held at the Greeneville Career and Technical Academy on Hal Henard Road.
GREENE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION
The Greene County Board of Education meets at 4:30 pm and will consider the new contract for Director Of Schools Dr. Chris Malone. Malone has been working under the Interim Director contract since he was appointed January 16th. On February 27th he was appointed Director of Schools. With next Tuesday, July 1st being the first day of the new fiscal year, his new contract would go into effect on that date.
JOINT BOARD OF EDUCATION
The last ever meeting of the Joint Board of Education will take place at 6 that evening. Budgetary items and Carmen Cox Scholarship Recipients are among items on the agenda which was released this morning. Since Greeneville and Greene County will no longer officially both be involved in the operations at that location, the decades long educational agreement will officially end June 30th. That meeting will begin at 6 Thursday evening.
GREENEVILLE CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION
The Greeneville City Board of Education will meet at 7:15 pm after the Joint Board meeting. Budgetary matters including the 25–26-year budget, a differentiated pay plan, consideration of lacrosse, a Ballad Academy update and moving plans from George Clem to the Hal Henard are among items on that agenda released earlier today.
