Greene County is expected to dodge the worst of the line of storms that will move across the region late tonight into Monday.
According to the National Weather Service, the mountains and foothills of East Tennessee are in the marginal threat category for severe weather today. The chances of more severe storms, including tornadoes, are in the area of the Cumberland Plateau and south to Chattanooga.
On Monday, there will be a slight risk of severe weather across our area, with the enhanced threat moving to the east of Asheville. Strong winds, brief bursts of heavy rain and possible hail can be expected both this afternoon and again tomorrow morning.
