The latest song by Dugger Band of Greeneville spent most of Wednesday at #1 in the all genre category of top songs purchased through iTunes.
The reason “True Colors” jumped to the top spot was no doubt due to publicity received after a Nashville television station apparently refused to let them sing the song on their station. The songs producer John Rich of Big and Rich fame says WSMV station management deemed the lyrics too “politically biased”.
The station apparently offered to let Seth and Jordan Dugger sing another song, but Jordan says they decided against it.
The song fell to #2 Thursday and was down to #9 this morning on the all genre category, but remained at #1 on the iTunes country most purchased list Wednesday and Thursday before falling to third today.
