Greene County EMS and members from the Camp Creek Volunteer Fire Department were called to the top of Greystone Mountain last night to rescue a woman whose vehicle had slid off the road.
She called 911 a little after 10:30 pm and said that her truck had slide on ice and was partially off the road. She feared the truck could slide further if she tried to escape.
Rescuers made their way up Round Mountain Road to the Greystone Mountain Road intersection, just before the Round Knob picnic area. The roadway was covered with a solid sheet of ice. The truck was stabilized and the woman was helped to safety. She was not injured.
Responders cleared the scene around 1:00 AM.
