The Washington County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release today following reports of individuals living in tents along Highway 107.
Sheriff Keith Sexton said the department continues to assist those impacted by the September floods. Deputies have heavily patrolled areas impacted by flooding to make sure residents are safe and not living out in the elements. Sheriff Sexton said there is currently one tent being utilized for housing and that is the way they are choosing to live.
To continue supporting the community, the department is working with the Washington County Long Term Recovery Group to connect those in need of services with credible volunteers and organizations. Those in Washington County who are in need to services due to being impacted by the flooding can call 791-0494.
