A Jonesborough woman was arrested on assault and burglary charges following an incident at a Limestone residence Wednesday night.
Washington County deputies responded to the report of a burglary around 10:30 PM at a home in the 200 block of Bigwood Road. The homeowner said she noticed lights on in the apartment above the garage on her property. When she went to turn them off, she found 51-year-old Amy Britton in bed in the apartment.
The victim asked Britton to leave multiple times. Britton then allegedly produced a large knife, threatened the victim, and threw a lamp at her. When deputies took Britton into custody, she had a nearly empty bottle of liquor, a toy gun, the large knife, and a glass pipe with apparent drug residue in her possession.
She was transported to the Washington County Detention Center for aggravated assault, burglary, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $41,000.
