The Greene County Sheriffs Department is investigating a Friday morning shooting.
Greene County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a home located in the 7000 block of Old Stage Road around 3:40 AM Friday. The caller stated that someone had entered his home and that he had gone to a neighbor’s house to call for help because his girlfriend was still inside.
About 10 minutes later, a female called from the residence saying she had been shot twice. Deputies arrived on scene to find a 24-year-old female with gunshot wounds to her hand and back. The victim was flown to Johnson City Medical Center for treatment. She is listed in stable condition.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Division responded and is investigating this incident.
