A Johnson City man was arrested in Greeneville early this morning on drug charges.
An officer with the Greeneville Police Department saw a vehicle roll through a stop sign at the intersection of Old Stage Road and Snapps ferry Road around 1:15 AM. A traffic stop was initiated, but the driver would not consent to a search of the car.
Another officer and his K9 partner were called to the scene. The K9 alerted on the passenger side of the vehicle, where Stephen Tuggle, of East Main Street in Johnson City, was sitting.
A subsequent search produced two suboxone pills and a large amount of drug paraphernalia in a backpack reportedly belonging to Tuggle. A baggie was then found in Tuggle’s pants that contained 19 grams of a crystal-like substance identified as methamphetamine.
Tuggle was charged with felony manufacture, sale and delivery of meth, possession of schedule 3 drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
