Drug violations were discovered after a couple of traffic stops Friday.
Around 1:30 Friday, police spoke with a male at the intersection of Grandview Avenue and Crescent Drive. The man identified himself as Marshall Buell of West Andrew Johnson Highway, and according to the report, consented to a search by officers.
A small bag with a dark powder believed to be heroin was located in his pocket. A baggie, spoon and two syringes were also found. Buell was placed under arrest for possession of a schedule 1 drug and drug paraphernalia.
Just before midnight Friday, police noticed an black Chevrolet SUV with a tail light out near Old Stage Road. A traffic stop was made and the driver was identified as Matthew Franklin of South Rufe Taylor Road. Franklin reportedly consented to a search of the vehicle, where a box with 2 grams of suspected meth, suboxone, a spoon, needle, and baggie were found.
Franklin was placed under arrest and taken to the Greene County jail for Possession of Methamphetamine, and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia.
