A man on a bicycle was stopped for having a warrant out of Greene County Friday.
Around 1:45 Friday afternoon, officers noticed a man riding a bicycle down Grandview Avenue at Crescent Drive. He was identified as Bobby Jack Williams of Chapel Street, and was known to have an active Violation of Probation warrant. Police stopped and called to Williams, but when officers stepped out of the car, Williams reportedly began driving away. He was tackled by one of the officers and placed into custody.
During a search, a meth pipe and a small baggie were located on Williams, who was then charged with with Evading Arrest and Possesion of Drug Paraphernalia, in addition to the warrant arrest. EMS was called to the scene, but Williams refused to go to the hospital. He was taken to the Greene County Detention Center without further incident.
