The Greeneville Energy Authority board will look to fill their vacant seat after the passing of board member Jim Emory.
Emory passed away on July 8th at the age of 91 after serving for 33 consecutive years on the GEA board. The board previously mentioned time was needed to process his death. During the board meeting on Tuesday, August 27th, they discussed starting the process to fill his seat soon.
The GEA board also had their Election of Board Officers for 2024-25 on Tuesday. Board member Willie Anderson made a motion to nominate Vice-Chair Tim Teague as the Chairman of the GEA board. Secretary Shane Hite seconded the motion and the board voted unanimously. Sarah Webster was nominated to serve as Vice-Chair of the GEA board.
Hite was re-elected as Secretary and Shawn Collins was selected to continue in her role as Assistant Secretary.
