A Chuckey man recently reported someone used his information to open a line of credit.
The victim spoke with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office on Friday morning. He said he received an email on July 1st from CashNet USA regarding a request for an email change on an account he opened. The victim also recently got a letter stating his payment of over $300 for the account was past due.
He believes someone used his information to open the account. He called CashNet and was told a loan was taken out in his name for $2,100 on July 1st. According to the victim, he told the company it was fraudulent and was advised to make a report so the account could be closed.
No suspects were known at the time the report was filed. The victim stated he is unsure if this will affect his credit.
