A Limestone man was arrested Tuesday following a reported property line dispute.
Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 100 block of Blackley Creek Road around 7 PM Tuesday. The victim said he was in the process of digging a hole for a fence post when 53-year-old Richard J. Martin began arguing with him about the property line. According to a press release, two shots were fired during the argument and the victim retreated to his residence.
Martin told deputies he fired one shot in the air to scare his neighbor. The firearm was found inside Martin’s residence. The gun was loaded, with one round in the chamber and 13 rounds in the 15-round magazine.
Martin was transported to the Washington County Detention Center for reckless endangerment and aggravated assault.
