The Greeneville City School Board of Education will meet Tuesday afternoon and consider several surplus items for disposal. According to the agenda, the surplus items have been reportedly deemed no longer useful/necessary. Usually, items include equipment, books, or materials.
The board will consider approving several board policy revisions on the first and second readings. The removal of board policies including “Leave Taken for Adoption, Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Nursing of an Infant” and “COVID-19 Leave,” will be discussed. If approved the policies will be deleted. The school board is required to review its policy manual to pass, revise, or delete policies mandated by changing conditions at least biannually.
Also on the agenda is consideration of approving the purchase of the BrainPOP Software. The district has purchased BrainPOP Software for grades K-8 for over fifteen years, but the price has increased to over the $25,000 threshold, requiring approval.
BrainPOP LLC is designed for all elementary and middle schools and gives teachers access to over 1,200 topics across the curriculum. It includes grade-level texts, quizzes, challenges, creative learning tools, and reporting on state standards.
The meeting will be held at 5 PM on July 23rd, 2024 at the Kathryn W. Leonard Administrative Office on 129 West Depot Street.
