An event called “What Your Kids Don’t Want You To Know” will be held on Monday, July 29th at Chuckey-Doak High School on 365 Ripley Island Road.
It’s the fourth year for the event, catered to parents and guardians of teenagers or any adult who has contact with children. Sergeant Bryan Henderson from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department is organizing this year’s event and said this time they will focus on presenting information on vapes, the THC concentrates used in vapes, social media dangers, and domestic terrorist groups’ utilization of social media against our kids.
Like past events, The “What Your Kids Don’t Want You To Know” event will offer community resources and the Army National Guard’s “Stashed Away Trailer.” The Child Advocacy Center will be presenting “Overview of Impact of Drug and Alcohol on Newborns.” Special guest speakers this year include Corey Greenway and Anna Graham. The speakers are two young adults who have fought through recovery and are sharing their experiences.
A food truck will be on-site offering street tacos. The Greene County Anti-Drug Coalition will also provide a $5 food voucher to the first 50 people. Plus, there will be door prizes!
The doors open at 5:30 PM and the event begins at 6:30 PM. It’s free and open to all parents/guardians of public, private, and home-school students.
