Greeneville City Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Lindsey Weeden as the new principal of Tennessee Online Public School at Greeneville. TOPS is a statewide public virtual school that serves grades K-12. TOPS courses are available for any student in Tennessee who meets the eligibility requirements.
Dr. Weeden has served in various capacities over her 13 years in education, including administrative assistant, adjunct teacher, full-time teacher, state testing coordinator, and graduation coordinator for Tennessee Online Public School with the Bristol City Schools system. Dr. Weeden holds a doctorate in educational leadership from East Tennessee State University.
Weeden replaces former TOPS principal Richard Tipton, who was recently promoted to assistant director of schools for curriculum and instruction.
“I am honored to join Tennessee Online Public School at Greeneville as principal,” Dr. Weeden said. “I am passionate about online education and am committed to ensuring that every student has access to high-quality learning opportunities. I look forward to working with our talented faculty, staff, and students to continue the tradition of excellence at TOPS Greeneville.”
