A former teacher from Greene County has pled guilty to charges stemming from a Grand Jury indictment for statutory rape by an authority figure.
Jacob Columbus Deal was indicted in May 2023 on three counts related to an alleged relationship with a 14-year-old female student in 2021. Deal was 41 at the time of the investigation. He appeared before Judge Alex Pearson on Monday to enter his guilty plea.
Deal, who served as a math teacher and boys’ basketball coach at West Greene High School, resigned from his position in May 2021. The victim reported the incidents in June 2021.
Greene County Detective Sergeant Chuck Humphreys stated in a press release that the investigation was lengthy, involving multiple interviews and data collection from social media.
