Main Street Greeneville’s Lyrics on the Lawn Summer Concert Series will continue this Thursday evening with free performances from the winner and runner-up of the Music Mashup Battle of the Bands.
The headliner for Thursday’s show is Tequila Mockingbird starting at 8 p.m., with the opener Six Gun taking the stage at 7 p.m.
Six Gun is based out of Southwest Virginia and plays southern rock and blues in the spirit of bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tom Petty and many more. Tequila Mockingbird is based in Greeneville and performs songs spanning southern and classic rock up to today’s radio hits.
An open mic will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Food Court/Cafe area for all ages. Slots must be reserved, and four spots will be available each week. Call Main Street Greeneville at 639-7102 to reserve a slot for open mic.
All Lyrics on the Lawn shows are free of charge and are held on the lawn of the Dickson-Williams Mansion. Several local food trucks will be on site beginning at 6 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Pets must remain in the designated Fido Friendly area during the event.
