City of Tusculum Press Release
The City of Tusculum along with the Greene County Partnership will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Tusculum City Park located on West Street on Monday, April 22nd, at 1:00pm, to celebrate the recent extensive renovations to the park.
The park was built in the early 1970’s and has long been a popular destination for local families and organizations. Both the playground equipment and the restroom facilities dated back 50 years and have served us well, but they were obviously showing their age and were not handicapped accessible.
Last year, the City replaced all the playground equipment and improved handicapped accessibility to the playground area. This year, the City has demolished the old restroom facilities and replaced them with a completely new facility with several amenities including 4 individual unisex restrooms, handicapped accessibility, and baby changing stations. The construction project was completed by Idell Construction.
Silicon Ranch, the operator of the solar farm facility that began operations in Tusculum last year, provided a significant gift to the playground project and will be recognized for their support at the ceremony.
In addition to the playground and restrooms, the park provides a pavilion with picnic tables and a ¼ mile circular walking track, and is also one end of the scenic 4-mile Tusculum Linear Trail. The restrooms are open from April 1 thru October 31 each year. The pavilion may be reserved for a specific time period by contacting Tusculum City Hall at 638-6211.
