A Bean Station woman was arrested Monday in Greene County for public intoxication after she reportedly was seen walking around a grocery store and eating food without paying.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to Food Country in Mosheim around 9:00 PM after the manager reported a woman, identified as Crystal Walker of Squaw Road, walking around the store eating food. The deputy found Walker passed out on the floor near the frozen foods section. Walker was escorted outside and a baggie and straw were seen hanging out of her bag. A pipe was also found during a search, along with pills bottles for suboxone that were prescribed to Walker. She reportedly told the deputy she had taken suboxone and had taken methamphetamine a day or two prior. Walker said she was unsure how she got to the store, but thought she had been dropped off there.
The manager of the store said Walker had only stolen one snack cake and ate it while in the store. The manager did not want to prosecute for theft, but did want her trespassed from the store.
Walker was transported to the Greene County Detention Center for public intoxication.
