By the end of this calendar year, several Greene County offices should be moved into their new home in the former Takoma Hospital building , and that move could begin as early as April.
A facilities update meeting was held Wednesday afternoon at the Annex. The annex currently houses many of the offices moving to the soon to be renovated 110,000 square foot 45 year old facility.
Architects Dave Wright and Caroline Miller and Mechanical Engineer Wayne Robertson gave updates on the project and discussed plans moving forward.
Mayor Kevin Morrison says an organized but staggered move in of the various offices could begin as soon as April, beginning with the County Clerk’s office.
Offices such as that which deal with the public on a daily basis will be located on the first floor. The second floor will be administrative offices and also a new kitchen and dining area, which as currently planned, will be open to the public.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department will be housed on the third flood and the Greene County School System offices on the fourth floor. The fourth floor isa further behind in renovations, which began after the Ballad Strong Futures moved out and into their new facility.
By the end of the year , Morrison says all offices will be settled into their new much more spacious locations.
