The Greeneville City Council will meet this afternoon at 4 PM, a Beer Board meeting will be held shortly after, followed by a joint workshop between the council and the Greeneville Municipal Planning Commission at 5 PM.
The City Council during their meeting at 4 PM will discuss town projects and strategic plans like gateway improvements and phase 2 of the downtown redevelopment.
There’s a consideration to approve a Special Event Application for Rural Resources to host Brewfest on May 18th, 2024. Special Event permits are issued to allow street closures, use of public space, and use of City services for public events.
Also for consideration is the purchase of a CAT279D3 Compact Track Loader for over $83,000 and a 2025 Mack LR 64R automated collection truck for Public Works Department for over $360,000.
A joint workshop with the Greeneville City Council and the Greeneville Municipal Planning Commission will include a discussion on adding a special exception to the M-1 and M-2 section of the zoning ordinance to allow for a Residential Re-entry Center (RRC), operated by Midway Rehabilitation Center under the jurisdiction of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), in the Mount Pleasant Industrial Park.
The meetings will all be held in the G. Thomas Love Boardroom at the Greeneville Energy Authority Building, located on 110 North College Street.
