Has the recent spring weather gotten you impatient, ready to go out and start attending daily yard sales again?
Well don’t get too excited it’s still winter, but that’s okay because the Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department wants to invite citizens on March 16th to join them for a breakfast fundraiser. Assistant Chief Nathan Hensley said for years the fire department has had three major fundraisers to raise money, with the community being very supportive of each. But the department wanted to find others forms of fundraising activities.
So after discussions and some planning the Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department found that this time of year in winter, people seem to be cooped up in their homes and are ready to just get out of the house. This is why they are hoping to start their 1st Annual Winter Breakfast Fundraiser. What better way to get out of the house, eat some good food, and show appreciation to our first responders?
The breakfast includes biscuits and gravy, one choice of meat, (country ham, sausage, or bacon) eggs, hash browns, and orange juice or coffee. $10 for adults, $5 for ages 5-10, and 4 and under eat free. Proceeds from the breakfast will be used strictly to support the day-to-day operations of the Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department, expenses like training, equipment, and vehicle maintenance.
The department believes this will be a great opportunity for fellowship with members as well as others in the community, and a chance for people to get out and get ready for the spring/summer months. Join them on Saturday, March 16th from 7-11 AM at Chuckey-Doak High School, located on Ripley Island Road.
