The Greeneville Police Department responded to a home Monday on the 6000 block of Houston Valley Road on the report of theft.
Once on the scene an officer was stopped by a neighbor who states the suspects were down the road. Camera footage showed a female attempting to open doors to a camper. The suspect was identified as Sharyssa D. Nelson, from Dunlap, TN.
Officers found Nelson and another female, Kyla Shelton. Nelson allegedly began running away, leaving Shelton, and was throwing items into a ditch. Both suspects were detained some time later.
Items stolen included household goods like a folding chair and a tarp, according to the report. All were recovered and returned to the property owner. Only Nelson was charged due to the evidence provided. During a search, officers also reportedly found syringes on Nelson that had a clear liquid. She was arrested with burglary and unlawful drug paraphernalia.
