A man reportedly overdosed during a traffic stop yesterday afternoon.
Deputies were patrolling the area on Brown Springs Road when they saw a vehicle without a license plate. A traffic stop was conducted on the driver, Gary Ranney of Greeneville, who had a revoked license, couldn’t provide proof of insurance and registration, and had a warrant out for Failure to Appear.
Ranney was detained for his active warrant and shortly after allegedly had an overdose. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance. He was issued a citation for the violation of registration, for not having a license plate, and financial responsibility. A warrant was taken out for driving on a suspended license.
