The Greene County Regional Planning Commission selected a date for a work session to be scheduled to discuss the proposed new solar power regulations.
The extended moratorium ends in April. The session will be open to the public and there will be an open discussion with insight on how to proceed with the regulations. It will be on January 4th, 2024 at 1 PM in the Greene County Courthouse Annex Conference Room. After the work session, the planning commission will speak with Roger Woolsey, Attorney for Greene County, in preparation for the January 9th Regional Planning Commission meeting.
Currently there are two Solar Farms in the county, one within the Tusculum City Limits off Ball Road and another off Old Snapps Ferry Road, near Liberty Hill United Methodist Church. Another on Reed Road is not yet complete.
The commission approved a concept plan for an addition to the White Sands RV Resort with a motion made by Gwen Lilley. The resort, approved in November, has a concept plan showing twelve campsites, six proposed cabins, and a new proposed road that’s located adjacent to White Sands Road. The expansion met the commissions’ regulations.
