A Greeneville man was arrested this morning following a traffic stop in which the car he was driving was reported stolen.
A deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department stopped a vehicle around 5:20 AM for traveling 82 mph in a 45 mph zone on the 107 Cutoff. The driver, Mitchell Wilhoit of Susong Memorial Road, was discovered to have a suspended license.
The tag on the car came back to a different vehicle. The VIN showed the car was stolen out of Greene County. Wilhoit said he was paying to rent the vehicle from another man, who was identified in the report.
