Two people were injured in a single-vehicle wreck Thursday on Chuckey Highway during a police pursuit.
According to the accident report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a Kia Optima driven by 24-year-old Taylor Hensley was actively fleeing from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department. Shortly after 2:30 PM, the car ran off the right side of the roadway on Chuckey Highway near the Choctaw Drive intersection. The vehicle then re-entered the roadway, spun sideways, ran off the left side of the road, and struck a large utility pole on the passenger’s side. The car then spun around and struck a guard rail on the driver’s side before coming to a final rest.
Hensley and a passenger in the car, 24-year-old Adonte Lawson, were injured and transported by EMS to a local hospital. Further details on charges in connection with the incident are pending a Greene County Sheriff’s Department report.
