A Stop and Go Market in Mosheim reported embezzlement Monday and said an employee took a minimum of $1,000 from the cash register since September.
Deputies arrived at 8235 West Andrew Johnson Highway and spoke with the complainant who said the suspect was hired in September. Since then, she has allegedly been taking money from the register after doing lottery payouts. The complainant stated there is video footage of the theft by the suspect, who was named in the report.
A minimum of $1,000 has been taken from the store and the suspect did state she would pay the money back, according to the report. The store has agreed to not press charges as long as the employee pays the full amount stolen in a timely manner.
