The Greeneville City Council will meet this afternoon and consider approving the purchase of asphalt for the W.T. Daniels Park on behalf of the Greeneville Parks and Recreation Department.
According to the agenda item, funds will total almost $20,000. The park, located at 375 Whirlwind Road, features a Dog Park, Disc Golf Park, and walking areas. Approval will also be considered for the purchase of radar units for the Greeneville Police Department. The department was recently awarded a grant from the Tennessee Highway Safety Office and is requesting to use $10,000 for five radar units.
Also on the agenda is a presentation from a Water Commission study, consideration of property exchange with SMN Investments, and consideration of a special event sign request for “A Night in Bethlehem,” a Nativity Festival on December 1st through December 3rd.
Additionally, the council will discuss funding, rates, and fees for members of the Roby Adult Center and participants in the Parks and Recreation programs. The meeting will be held at 4 PM today in the G. Thomas Love Boardroom at Greeneville Energy Authority, located on 110 North College Street.
