An intoxicated man was tazed and arrested Monday after trying to flee officers on Baileyton Road.
The Greeneville Police Department received a call regarding a male who appeared intoxicated and were advised he was walking on Baileyton Road. Officers saw the man in the middle of the road and confirmed him to be Matthew Waddell. He reportedly walked in front of the patrol vehicle and was told to get out of the road.
As officers were detaining him he allegedly ran away and tried to flee. According to the report, a Taser was deployed and he fell to the ground. At that time he was placed under arrest.A pill was found on Waddell that reportedly treats seizures and is a prescription drug.
He was charged with Resisting Arrest, Public Intoxication, and Possession of a Drug Without Prescription.
