At around 4:30 pm yesterday, Greeneville Police responded to a report of someone walking and swaying in the middle of the East Andrew Johnson Highway.
Traffic had to change lanes to prevent hitting the individual, later identified as Crystal Vann.
Officers made contact with Vann between Walgreens and the Andrew Johnson Bank.
Vann immediately began cursing at the police and took off her shoes. Vann then began running from the police toward the Andrew Johnson Bank.
Police were able to detain Vann, who hit an officer in the face, scratched their arms, and bit them.
Officers found a glass pipe with residue in Vann’s possession.
She was charged with:
- Public Intoxication
- Pedestrian on Roadways
- Assault on an Officer
- Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia
- Resist, Halt, and Frisk
