The Greene County Grand Jury met Monday and indicted several for charges including speeding, revoked license, possession of drugs, and evading arrest.
Robert Matthew Owens of Hixson Circle in Greeneville, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon on May 2, 2022 where he did commit the offense of possessing a firearm, after having been convicted of a felony crime of violence. Owens committed the offense of aggravated sexual battery, a Class B Felony.
Just before midnight last May, deputies went to his home on a report of a man looking into cars around the neighborhood, followed by a gunshot. Owens was located with a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun that was on the couch with a spent shell in the chamber. He was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unlawful carrying, and served warrants for theft of property, violation of community supervision and intentional tampering with a device.
Anthony Bruce Lamons from Carpenters Chapel Road in Mosheim was also indicted on Monday. He was given charges including aggravated burglary, domestic assault, and aggravated stalking. Lamons on September 4, 2022 did commit the offense of entering the victims home to commit a theft.
The indictment states he caused fear imminent bodily injury and engaged in willful course of conduct involving repeated or continued harassment, caused the victim to feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated, harassed, or molested. The course of conduct involved threats to the victim and children to place in fear of death/bodily injury.
