The Greene County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at an Afton residence today.
Deputies responded to the 900 block of Middle Creek Road and found a 40-year-old man suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the Johnson City Medical Center. He was listed in serious, but stable condition this afternoon.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigations Division also responded to the scene. According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Department, it is believed at this time the incident stemmed from a domestic-type disturbance.
