A quick response from employees of Terry’s Flooring kept a mobile home from burning down before firefighters arrived on the scene this afternoon.
Terry Thompson said employees were made aware of the fire at 106 Bainey Broyles Street shortly before 1:30 PM, which was located adjacent to the business. Thompson was able to locate a fire extinguisher, which was taken to the residence to fight the blaze. The quick response helped to keep the fire from spreading until the Greeneville Fire Department arrived on the scene and prevented the residence from being destroyed.
All occupants were able to escape the home unharmed. The Greeneville Police Department, Greeneville Light & Power, and EMS also responded to the scene.
