The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of east Tennessee.
Northwest flow behind the departing system today could lead to light snowfall in higher elevations of the East Tennessee mountains tonight. Accumulations of one inch or less could be expected.
Precipitation will move into the region Sunday morning. Initially, some snow is expected in the higher terrain of far northeast Tennessee. Brief, minor accumulations are possible but a transition to all rain is expected by late Sunday morning.
