A Whitehouse Road man is facing drug and weapon charges after police responded to his home Monday night.
A deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, along with a DTF Agent, received information that Chris Crawford grabbed two bags of meth out of a vehicle on North Irish Street around 9:00 PM and headed toward Whitehouse Road.
Police went to Crawford’s Whitehouse Road residence. The homeowner said that Crawford, who had an active arrest warrant, was inside. He was taken into custody and transported to the Greene County Detention Center.
Another resident of the home gave police verbal permission to search Crawford’s bedroom. A loaded and chambered 9mm pistol was found in the top drawer of the dresser Crawford was standing next to when police arrived. A K-9 deputy gave a positive alert on a backpack in the room that appeared to belong to Crawford. It contained 145 baggies and a digital scale. A total of 14.27 grams of a substance identified as methamphetamine was also found in the top of the bedroom closet.
Crawford was charged with the manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
