A Greeneville man was arrested for public intoxication on Thursday night after he was reportedly standing in the middle of the road screaming for help.
An officer with the Greeneville Police Department responded to the intersection of North Nelson Street and North Irish Street around 10:30 PM and located Terry Deyton of North Nelson Street. Deyton was reportedly insufficiently dressed for the cold temperatures, wearing a short sleeve shirt, sweatpants, and socks with no shoes.
While the officer attempted to communicate with Deyton, he screamed that he needed help and had uncontrollable body movements.
Deyton was determined to be under the influence of drugs and taken into custody for public intoxication.
