A Greeneville man, who was known to be apart of a drive-by shooting and had active warrants, was arrested this morning near Baileyton Road.
While on patrol about 5 AM, Officer Ethan Metcalf observed a vehicle by the Dollar General on 250 Baileyton Road that was driven by Iramil Garay Rivera. The officer had prior knowledge that Rivera had active warrants and was a suspect in a drive-by shooting. He stopped the vehicle and made contact with the suspect and immediately extracted him from the vehicle and onto the ground for officer safety.
Rivera was using his vehicle as a taxi, and had a customer in the vehicle that was being taken to Crenlo. An officer transported to customer to his destination and Rivera was placed under arrest.
