WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING TO 1 AM EST SUNDAY
Winds will become increasingly gusty tonight ahead of an approaching frontal boundary, especially in the Tennessee Mountains and nearby oothills. Accordingly, a wind advisory is in effect for these locations.
Most areas will have south winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. The highest portions of the East TN Mountains will be the most affected and could see sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts as high as 60 mph.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle and secure outdoor objects.
