Margaret Ann Smith

Margaret Ann Smith, 79, of the Caney Branch Community, passed away Sunday afternoon at her home surrounded by her family.

She was a homemaker who was known for her baking and cooking skills. She also enjoyed reading.

She was a member of Love’s Memorial Church.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years: Norman Smith; one son and daughter-in-law: Chris and Stacey Smith; one daughter and son-in-law: Paula and David Beverly; grandchildren: Carrie and Dawson Berryhill, Matt and Lynn Smith, Aaron Smith, Keely and Jordy Clark, Terry Proffitt, Taylor Weeks, and Abigail and Dexter Fry; great-grandchildren: Cohen, Blakelynn, Kinley, Garrett, Addie, Brenndan, Hadley, Harlie, and two coming soon, Wrenlee and Rowann; several special nieces and nephews; special friends: Fredna Myers and Rocky Ottinger; and her friends with DaVita Dialysis of Greeneville.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughters: Amy and Annie Smith; parents: Lloyd and Beulah Blazer; brother: Ivas Blazer; two sisters: Virginia Bible and Lagretta Stephens; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Rex and Phyllis Carter.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 o’clock in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Donnie Bible and the Rev. Clay Wilkerson officiating.

Committal services will be held at 10 AM Thursday at Love’s Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Caleb Winstead officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Pallbearers will be Terry Proffitt, Travis Roberts, Danny Ricker, Tyler Ricker, Jordy Clark, and David Beverly. Honorary pallbearers will be Mickey Blazer, Todd Blazer, Eric Hawk, and Rocky Ottinger.

Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
