The National Weather Service says light precipitation will move into the region late tonight into early Friday morning.
Most places will be warm enough for rain, but the northern Plateau, northeast Tennessee and the Tennessee mountains will be cold enough for light snow. A period of light freezing rain is also possible across extreme northeast Tennessee. Light accumulations and minor travel impacts are increasingly likely in those particular areas.
Wintry precipitation will change over to primarily rain as it tapers off during the afternoon on Friday.
