A Laurel Street man was arrested early Sunday morning after wrecking his vehicle in the 10000 block of Baileyton Highway.
Deputies with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene around 3:15 AM and identified the driver as Joshua Trivette. He was reportedly traveling northbound on Baileyton Highway when he came to a curve and went off the right side of the roadway, colliding with an embankment.
Trivette reportedly appeared intoxicated and smelled of alcohol. Field sobriety tests were not given due to his inability to stand safely.
An inventory of the vehicle found a 9mm handgun in the front passenger side floorboard. The gun had a magazine with five bullets in it. A large glass bong was found in a pillow case as well.
Trivette was charged with DUI 1st offense, possession of a handgun while under the influence, and violation of implied consent.
