A Greeneville woman was arrested this week after police say she has stolen thousands of dollars using another Greeneville woman’s ATM card.
Detective Lieutenant John Bishop says between August 24 and September 10th, Crystal D. Belt of West Main Street was observed on bank video make a total of 10 transactions on the victims account, totaling $4,403.95. The victim told police she had noticed throughout the year someone had been withdrawing money from her account at several different bank locations. The victim reports she has lost just over $7,500 due to the withdrawals.
When interviewed at the Greeneville Police Department earlier this week, Belt denied taking any funds from the victim’s account. After the written statement, she was placed under arrest on a charge of illegal possession/fraudulent use of a credit/debit card.
She was being held on $5,000 bond pending a Sessions Court hearing.
