According to the National Weather Service, showers will continue into today before tampering off this afternoon and evening.
Locally heavy rainfall is possible especially across southeast Tennessee and extreme southwest North Carolina, which may lead to localized flooding.
A second round of potentially heavy rain may occur Friday and Friday night, especially over the southern portions of the area. With soils possibly saturated from the previous rainfall event, there will be potential for flooding to occur.
