The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development reported today that the state’s unemployment rate for January was 3.5 percent, marking the fourth consecutive month the state’s jobless number remained at that level.
A year ago, the state rate was also 3.5 percent. During the past year, employers across the state added 123,200 jobs to their payrolls.
The national unemployment rate for January 2023 was 3.4 percent, down from 3.5 percent in December.
